Tobias Azevedo | The International MBA
BALANCING AN HUMANITARIAN AND PRAGMATIC LEADERSHIP
Tobias is a bold and dynamic individual dedicated to effectively creating and maintaining motivated teams to excel in adverse scenarios.
Tobias has built a genuine rich career across geographies, languages, and cultures both in businesses and in NGOs, despite his relatively short career. During his early years at University, Tobias took the opportunity to engage in different internships in Cerealis, Roland Berger and Sonae to improve his business skills. Meanwhile, his enduring and adventurous spirit also drove him to spend several months in Mozambique, Tanzania and South Africa teaching and helping NGOs to recover from financial distress situations. With these experiences Tobias became particularly able to empathize with other people and to be a pragmatic problem-solver, capable of making decisions under pressure.
During his time at Cerealis and Sonae, Tobias felt attracted by the retail and FMCG market, leading him to work at Unilever, in Barcelona, after completing his degree. Following a very successful professional period, he decided to move to Madrid, to work at Worten, as an E-commerce Project Manager and was ultimately promoted to E-commerce Operations and Marketplace Manager. After almost 4 years at Worten Madrid, Tobias moved back to Portugal. He, then, started a fascinating new project in the thriving world of AgTech, as a Project Manager at SONAE SGPS’ Strategy team. His ability to perfectly balance his objective and competitive nature allowed him to achieve great results.
In 2019, Tobias combined his remarkable past experience in both international business and e-commerce with his entrepreneurial spirit and, together with another business partner, he set up a Software and Service business targeting SMEs which aimed to enter international marketplaces.
After finishing his MBA Tobias aims to keep growing professionally by taking on challenging new roles whilst also pursuing his entrepreneurial projects.
