He is an experienced and highly motivated Automation Manager with over 16 years of valuable experience in projects delivery and team management to ensure company success. His specialties vary between Team Management, Sales Solutions, Project Management, DCS systems, Safety Systems, Industrial automation, and Industrial Internet. Amadeu is also highly skilled in building roadmaps and delivering new automation solutions in different process industries such as Petrochemical, Pulp and Paper, and Energy.

His career began in 2004 at Honeywell, where he was a member of an international project team responsible for configuring, designing, programming, and commissioning the DCS system. Integration of different industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Modbus, OPC) and industrial networks.

In 2006, as a research assistant at Hewlett-Packard in Bristol, Amadeu was responsible for research, design architecture, data visualization methods, web-based solutions, system development on privacy and security. In the end, he demonstrated proof of concept at the HP Information Security Colloquium at Royal Holloway in London.

Succeeding this incredible experience, Amadeu moved back to Portugal in 2007 where he started as Senior System engineer and finished has Business Director of Optieng, a promising start-up in Aveiro. He was responsible for project management, implementation of the quality management system in the engineering processes, engineering team development, a consultant in automation projects, commissioning, and start-up. During this time, he lived in Finland for one year and was involved in projects in Portugal, Spain, France, Netherlands and USA. His incredible investment in the company's growth and team development resulted in processes improvement, new businesses, and changes towards company targets.

Nowadays, Amadeu is the Country Manager for Valmet, but he started as an Application Engineer in England as a team leader in different automation projects. After one year, he moved to Portugal with a mission: to be the head of the Automation department and develop the business and the team in the country. After 5 years in Portugal the results talked by themselves, with a continuous growth in all areas, with 3 times more team members, net sales, customer installed base and service agreements.
