Joana is a talented artist with a rich portfolio full of degrees and professional experience, managing projects from beginning to end and delivering the best quality product. She graduated from the MA Typeface Design in 2011 and is currently working as a Project manager for a Type Design company, Schriftlabor, managing a team of five people, from type designers and font engineers.

Joana has been a freelancer type designer since 2011 and runs a small type foundry called Nova Type Foundry that collaborated with type foundries around the world, including Google Fonts, Monotype, and Indian Type Foundry. In the last six years, she also dedicated some time teaching and giving talks about type design.

She studied architecture, graphic design, Type Design and worked as an architect and yoga teacher. After taking Seth Godin’s altMBA online, she decided to enrol in this MBA to strengthen her previous knowledge and learn new skills.
